HbCPromoImage2.jpgHaircuts by Children is a performance about wild haircuts, power and trust. We challenge our audience and viewers to set their vanity aside, relinquish control, and trust that a 10-year-old has the creative ability, dexterity and responsibility to command a sharp pair of scissors.  

Conceived by Canadian performance company Mammalian Diving Reflex, East Side 5th graders will take over the Peacock Salon during the 2011 East Side Studio Tour (Nov 12-13) and give free haircuts to adults. Haircuts will also be featured in the official EAST preview event hosted by Art Alliance Austin on Nov. 10.

Not interested in getting your haircut, but would like to check out the performance? Observers are welcome and encouraged! Come check out the salon, watch the kids at work, and enjoy a cup of lemonade or hot chocolate.
